    • Can you move pianos?
      Yes, from uprights to grands, our team has the skills to safely and securely move pianos.
    • Do you offer storage?
      Need a place to store some things? We offer storage solutions to feed your need and budget. Inquire with your consultant to learn about your options.
    • Do you work with subcontractors?
      SELECT is not a broker, and thus does not work with subcontractors. At SELECT, we hand-pick our team for their commitment to professionalism, and we handle your move with our own vehicles.
    • Is SELECT licensed and insured?
      Well done! This is the first question you should ask when considering a moving company. SELECT is fully licensed and insured by the U.S. Department of Transportation and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
  • Pickup & Delivery

    • Do I need to be at home during my move?
      No. While we do recommend being on-site for your move so that you can be on hand to supervise or answer questions, you can also choose to designate a representative that you trust. Your designated representative must be able to present a signed Power of Attorney before the movers arrive.
    • What if my movers get a parking ticket during my move?
      During your move, the only vehicle you have to worry about parking is yours. As long as your car didn’t get the ticket, you will face no penalties or fines.
    • What about my air conditioner?
      Liability insurance requirements strictly prohibit our movers from uninstalling air conditioners. You will need to ensure that your air conditioner has been uninstalled before your movers arrive.
    • Can the movers handle my mounted television?
      Yes. For an additional fee, your movers can unmount your television before packing it away.
    • How many movers will be helping with my move?
      Some moves only require a couple of movers, and other moves require a whole team. We will develop a moving plan that ensures that you have the help you need when you need it.
    • How long will my move out take?
      The timeframes for your move will depend on the size and complexity of your relocation needs.
    • Will inclement weather affect the process of my move?
      Florida’s weather is overwhelmingly sunny and warm, but sometimes inclement weather can impact your delivery window. While hurricanes and tropical storms will necessitate delays, our movers are trained and equipped to handle your move in most weather conditions.
    • When do movers quit for the day?
      Our movers don’t stop until the work is done, unless there are building or community restrictions that prevent them from working off-hours.
    • Can I choose my delivery date?
      Maybe. Guaranteed delivery options are available for some moves. Talk to your relocation specialist to learn about your options.
    • What does it mean to have a delivery window?
      If you are assigned a delivery window, it gives you a span of dates and times within which your delivery will be made. A delivery window takes into consideration any potential delays due to traffic or construction. All you have to do is ensure that somebody is available to receive your goods during that time.
    • What time should I expect the movers to arrive?
      Our shipping logistics department will determine your delivery window and notify you at least 48 hours before your move.
  • Miscellaneous

    • Can I ride along in the truck with the movers?
      Unfortunately, due to insurance reasons, you cannot ride in the truck with our drivers.
    • What are the available truck sizes?
      Our trucks range in size from 18 to 26 feet long.
    • How much should I tip my movers?
      While tipping is not required, most people tip their movers. Our movers work hard to give great service, so recognizing their efforts with a gratuity is a great way to reward them for their care and attention.
  • Packing & Unpacking

    • Do you charge extra for wrapping or special handling of my furniture?
      No. Careful, diligent handling of your belongings is part of our service.
    • Can my movers handle valuables such as jewelry and documents?
      Any belongings of extraordinary or irreplaceable value should be kept with you whenever possible. Liability protection only goes so far, and some items should stay in your possession to ensure their safekeeping.
    • I keep seeing PBO. What does PBO mean?
      PBO is the shorthand version of Packed by Owner.
    • Can I pack my belongings in plastic bags?
      No. Plastic bags are not durable enough for use when moving since they are prone to rips and tears that can damage your belongings.
    • Can I pack liquids with my belongings?
      No. Liquids are not permitted in our trucks for liability reasons.
    • Do I need to empty my dressers or other furniture?
      Yes. You should empty all drawers and cabinets prior to the arrival of your movers.
    • Do I need to find boxes or will they be provided?
      Boxes and other packing materials are available for purchase if you would like.
  • Before & After the Move

    • Who do I contact with questions or concerns about my move?
      Our Customer Service agents are standing by to help with any questions or concerns.
    • Is SELECT liable if anything is damaged during my move?
      SELECT offers varying levels of protection depending on your needs. A Full Value Protection package offers full coverage to cover any loss or damage. Basic Coverage is included at no cost with every moving package and offers liability coverage for your belongings calculated at 30 cents per pound.
    • When should I schedule my move?
      If you want to move within a certain timeframe, you should schedule your move as far in advance as possible. For best results, book your time at least a month in advance.
  • Pricing & Payment

    • Do I pay before or after delivery?
      Federal law requires that all delivery charges be paid in full before unloading.
    • How can I pay?
      We accept major credit and debit cards (American Express, MasterCard, VISA), or a Certified Bank Check or Postal Money Order.
